What’s the Difference Between Groups and Forums?

1

Forums are usually just smaller communities within a group, though this isn’t always the case. In both forums and groups, messages can be read and posted via the site or via email, newsletters and more. Some groups are simply announcement or mailing lists for people interested in similar topics. Voting, calendars and file uploading are also a key characteristic of groups, though these elements may be available in forums as well.

Some of the most popular online groups are:

  • Yahoo Groups
  • Google Groups
  • AOL Group
  • MSN Group
  • Ning
  • Tribe.net

If you’re conducting a social media marketing campaign, its in your best interest to join any or all of these groups and maintain a few of them consistently. Groups are also a good place to look for forums relevant to your industry and offer lots of different topics to choose from.

Hello guys. I’m creating my first site and I want to include some youtube videos. I searched Google and I found some services but none is friendly enough for a beginner like me… I can’t understand anything since I don’t have any experience with html/php coding… so if any of you knows a good place with recourses for newbies please share! Thanks.
