Top 5 Ways to Make Your Social Media Marketing Campaign More Effective

0

Making your social media marketing campaign effective isn’t magic; it takes dedication and time, but there are ways to ensure its success.

One, focus. Look at the networks you’re a part of and think about how much time you have to devote to them. Make it best practice to take some sort of action every time you check your profile. For example, if you go to MyBlogLog to see if anyone’s posted, take a moment to post on someone else’s profile. It takes a couple minutes and if you do it consistently over time, you’ll see your hard work begin to pay off.

Two, make new friends. Contact at least a couple people a week. Comment on a post they wrote, ask a question or answer one…the more you interact with people, the more you promote yourself and your brand. Add at least three contacts through MySpace and Facebook per week.

Three, pick out a group (again, small or large, depending on your time constraints) of blogs that are considered the most relevant authorities in your industry and make it a habit to comment on them consistently. Additionally, don’t be afraid to contact the author via email to tell them how much you like their blog.

Four, take advantage of video! Create one video for your business and put it on YouTube, Veoh and submit it through Tubemogul. Promote it the same way you would promote an article and watch it grow.

Five, answer questions! Go to forums relevant to your industry and make a profile, answer questions and get involved. Build mutually beneficial relationships with both important and average members that can be highly useful in the future. Go to sites like Yahoo! Answers and offer your advice or expertise. Space out how often you drop a link to your website, say, every four or five posts.

Follow these five steps each week and you’ll start to see a definite difference in your marketing campaign. Further, you’ll start the journey to becoming a true member of your community, meet new people and promote your site – all at the same time!
