Onlywire Needs to Be Fixed
Fix Onlywire Please!
Onlywire is having problems. Dammit! They need to update the site more often; the problem is that Onlywire only works on pages whose login pages they link to. If a site’s owners change its layout or design, Onlywire has no way of knowing, so it just doesn’t work for that site.
The biggest bummer is that this happened with Mag.nolia. Instead of using the normal Mag.nolia login, the now have a landing page which takes you to a login page which then takes you to a drop down menu offering you a number of ways to login. Crappy change, if you ask me. That’s way too many clicks just to login. But that’s beside the point. The point is that Onlywire can no longer login to Mag.nolia, so don’t think of it as an option or incentive for joining Onlywire.
Del.irio.us, Diigo, Furl, Linkroll, BookmarkSync, and BlueDot (now Faves.com) are all sites who are completely worthless through Onlywire at this stage.
The rest are ok, but be sure to do a check, because it can change at any time. I’ll try to keep track and update this post if sites are dead, good or added.
For now, its still useful, but not for half the sites it submits to. If you sign up, be sure to not add these sites to the list because if you want to use any of them, you’ll be doing it yourself. There’s a reason all the reviews on the site are from 2006 or so:/
Its time to hunt for another bookmarklet tool; any good ones you use?
