I would have to know a little more detail honestly. Did you already do all the steps in the blog post already? Also make sure to build links to your new url that is the fastest way to get your new pages indexed.

Added new sitemap in webmasters control panel but so far it has indexed 0 pages. Do you know how long it will take for all the pages to be indexed to the new URL.?

P.S: Done 301 redirect only.

[...] If at any time you are switching domain names or changing a page’s URL, use 301 redirects to tell the engines where the new page is located.
I would never change a domain for my site no matter how bad I hated it. The only way I would change a domain is if I were forced to.

I do thank you for the tips though. 301 redirects are probably the best thing you could do.

I recently did a domain transfer and used a 301 redirect as well as redirected the domain in Google Webmaster tools and changed all internal links in the site to the new domain. Never lost SERP position or traffic and the PR caught up with extra PR at the next update. So, I agree with you as long as it's done right it's fine.

Excellent step by step tutorial. However, I already done this job without reading your article :) In last October I changed my domain from piyadas-world.com to worthytips.com and this 301 redirection and Google webmaster tool really help me to make this change without losing my traffic. However I forget to change my feedburner account details in my first week so I advice others to change that as well.

First I would say don't change the whois but only the password to the account at the registrar. If you change the password and the CC on file you then have full control of that domain and dont really need to update the whois info. However, if you must change the whois info KEEP the domain at the same registrar and that should keep it from reseting. In my experience keeping the domain at the same registrar goes a long way.
