Great article, you make a valid point about social media leveling the playing field. While it won't be quite like David vs. Goliath, big companies still have the advantage from the perspective that they are already well known and having the funds to hire SM experts to manage their campaigns. But again I do agree that the playing field is equal meaning we all have the same power of voice that we did not have before.

Derek - I watched both videos yesterday and love the message on both. Furthermore, your connection between them is excellent. Naomi was our mutual client. This video has gone small town viral. You posted it and I have posted it to a variety of places. I am sure we aren't the only ones.

Beyond this, a former neighbor of mine that works daily with a CMO of a major B2B brand viewed it and re posted it to her network. She has no relationship with Naomi other than a second degree connection through me. This is a clear example of someone that gets the new media and how to leverage networks for business and personal success.

We all have a brand, ourselves. Content, packaging, messaging and value...
